Diagnosing Crucial Diabetes Signs

By Vania Kraft

Identifying the bigger symptoms of diabetes can help you miss out on complications with the disease. Sadly, a majority of the indicators of diabetes that present themselves outside of the body are also indicators of other disorders.

The most distinctive indicator of both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes is that the body no longer produces insulin the way it usually does. Still, this is not as apparent as, say, the symptoms from the common flu. Usually, this is only observed when you visit your physician for another matter. The lower amount of insulin is discovered when blood testing is done or when you have your organs tested. Type 1, which is generally diagnosed when a person is young, is almost always found because a medical physician is attempting to diagnose an infection.

Blurry vision is another prominent symptom of diabetes. This is something that you won't be able to see if it is happening to someone else. Talk to your doctor about having your insulin levels tested if you experience this symptom. Diabetes can be referred to as Diabetes Melitus. This happens when the fluid in the tissue surrounding the lenses of your eyes is drained. Focusing your eyes when this occurs is difficult. If you experience consistent blurred vision you probably just need to visit the eye doc for glasses. Watch out though, pay close attention to the timing, if it's constant see your eye doctor, if it's intermitent or comes and goes definately see your doctor.

This is because your body's ability to send in healing white blood cells and rebuild the skin is affected by the lack of sugar and insulin in the blood. If you have observed that you've been having difficulty healing, in comparison to the past, you may need to talk to your medical professional. This is almost always a sign of a humorless issue.

One of the signs of diabetes that is more difficult to figure out, especially in yourself is when you feel a bit out of sorts. We all experience days where we just can't focus. If you suddenly feel agitated, confused or even irritable and can't figure out why you feel that way, it could be because you are experiencing one of the symptoms of diabetes. It is not hard to realize this in others, however it is more difficult to see it in yourself.

You might not even realize you are acting a little out of whack. It's when someone asks "what's wrong with you" that you should start to pay attention. Sometimes it is just a bad mood. Periodically it is a warning that something is not going the way it should internally and physically. There are a variety of indicators for diabetes, however they can be harsh. The most apparent signs (the lack of insulin production) are tough to see without thorough medical testing. Other indicators are quite evident. At the same time, a lot of the apparent signs of diabetes are also apparent signs of other issues and disorders. It is imperative for you to keep a watch over your body (and the bodies of your loved ones). You do not want your disease to be misdiagnosed. Ask for another opinion if you believe your own medical professional has misdiagnosed your or your children.
